Dear Friends,

We hope that you are safe and well!

Today's Meditation is written by Alla Renee Bozarth: "Earth's body is not for sale." It comes to us through Rebecca Doverspike. It reminded me of Jan Phillips' Love Song to the Divine (Alphabet Mantra)--our oneness with each other, with Mother Earth, with God.

As the rain pelted down here this morning, I remembered the people in California who are experiencing a drought. I was reminded of our oneness with the rain and the seagull and the dragonfly and the ocean and the cedar tree--our oneness with the Black/Brown Lives Matter Community and the LGBTQIA+ Community--our oneness with the whole human and cosmic community, present, past and future--our interdependence: what Christians call "The Communion of Saints" and what Buddhists call our Interbeing.

We invite you to join us as we commit ourselves to working tirelessly to end systemic and structural racism in our society, in healthcare, in the workplace, in the Church--wherever it shows up so that everyone may come to have more abundant life. May this meditation nourish our contemplative-active hearts and sustain all of us in action.

In the spirit of our philosophy of co-creating community and our awareness that the Spirit speaks through each of us, we invite you to share your meditations with us as well. We truly believe that in God’s economy of abundance, when we share our blessings, our thoughts, our feelings, we are all made richer.

We hope and pray that you and your loved ones experience genuine peace of mind and heart, and remain in good health during this challenging time.

As Summer unfolds, may you find peace, healing, hope, and the infusion of joy in your life!

With our love and care,

Ron & Jean

MEDITATION 408: Alla Renee Bozarth: "Earth's Body is not for sale"

Earth's body is not for sale

or rent. She is real

and we are her estate.

But no body is property.

Not even God owns any of it,

but delights in its being its own.

An ancient forest is always

in a dynamic state, half

of its body actively growing,

half of it actively dying--

these are the same half!

The other half is always

eating and being eaten.

Trees live for two thousand years

and then are food for as long.

This is perpetual and holy communion.

Nobody owns the sacred.

Every body is sacred.

Pray for the future:

become an animal spirited

and glorious in your Earthbody.

Offer thanks when you lie down

with the trees.

Like the all in the oneness

Like the branch and the vine

Like the call and the answer

Like the drink and the wind

Like the earth and the heavens

Like the forest and trees

Like the gate and the pathway

Like the hawk and the breeze

Like the iris and petals

Like the jewel and the mine

Like the known and the knowing

Like the laugh and the line

Like moonlight and darkness

Like nowhere and near

Like the oak and acorn

Like pain and the tear

Like the quest and the seeker

Like rain and the flower

Like the sea and the island

Like time and the hour

Like union and yearning

Like the vision and view

Like waves and the water

So I am to you.

So I am to you Love

And you are to me

We dwell in each other

Like salt in the sea.

O alleluia, o alleluia

O alleluia, o alleluia
