Dear Friends,

We hope that you are safe and well!

Today's Meditation offers us Mother Earth teaching us through meditation with the Ute People. It was sent to us by Irene Desharnais as a gift from her Genesis Meditation Group.

We invite you to join us as we commit ourselves to working tirelessly to end systemic and structural racism in our society, in healthcare, in the workplace, in the Church--wherever it shows up so that everyone may come to have more abundant life. May this meditation nourish our contemplative-active hearts and sustain all of us in action.

In the spirit of our philosophy of co-creating community and our awareness that the Spirit speaks through each of us, we invite you to share your meditations with us as well. We truly believe that in God’s economy of abundance, when we share our blessings, our thoughts, our feelings, we are all made richer.

We hope and pray that you and your loved ones experience genuine peace of mind and heart, and remain in good health during this challenging time.

As Summer unfolds, may you find peace, healing, hope, and the infusion of joy in your life!

With our love and care,

Ron & Jean

Good morning Beloved Community!

Welcome to Heart Centered meditation. Today is a new day. As we gather, let us join our hearts as one -- with one another, with all of creation, shared so generously with us by the Creator. Let us give thanks for all that has been, all that will be. And for this moment. Let us look with new eyes, with loving eyes, at the possibilities contained in this moment and in the day before us. Let us be conscious of our thoughts, our feelings, our sensations, our very being -- with love.

Allow thoughts, feelings and sensations to arise and pass -- neither clinging to them nor pushing them away. Neither judging them or relishing in them. Notice these visitors -- your thoughts, your feelings, your sensations -- and let them come ago as you abide in this present moment. This lovely moment.

The coming home to the present moment can be helped by noticing your breath. It can be helped by feeling your feet on the floor, your bottom on your seat, your steady heartbeat felt by a hand placed over your chest. Present moment, lovely moment.

This prayer to lead us into 20 min of silence is from the Ute People - a tribe for whom the state the Utah was named and who reside now on reservation lands in Utah and Colorado.

UTE Prayer

Earth teach me stillness

as the grasses are stilled with light.

Earth teach me suffering

as the old stones suffer with memory.

Earth teach me humility

as blossoms are humble with beginning.

Earth teach me caring

as the mother who succors her young.

Earth teach me courage

as the tree which stands all alone.

Earth teach me limitation

as the ant which crawls on the ground.

Earth teach me freedom

as the eagle which soars in the sky.

Earth teach me resignation

as the leaves which die in the fall.

Earth teach me generation

as the seed which rises in the spring.

Earth teach me to forget myself

as melted snow forgets its life.

Earth teach me to remember kindness

as dry fields weep with rain.
