Today's Meditation draws inspiration from Teilhard, Francis and Eckhart. It comes to us courtesy of Irene Desharnais.
We invite you to join us as we commit ourselves to working tirelessly to end systemic and structural racism in our society, in healthcare, in the workplace, in the Church--wherever it shows up so that everyone may come to have more abundant life. May this meditation nourish our contemplative-active hearts and sustain all of us in action.
In the spirit of our philosophy of co-creating community and our awareness that the Spirit speaks through each of us, we invite you to share your meditations with us as well. We truly believe that in God’s economy of abundance, when we share our blessings, our thoughts, our feelings, we are all made richer.

MEDITATION 370: Teilhard: Patient Trust plus Francis & Eckhart
Patient Trust - Teilhard de Chardin
Above all, trust in the slow work of God.
We are quite naturally impatient in everything to reach the end without delay.
We should like to skip the intermediate stages.
We are impatient of being on the way to something unknown, something new.
And yet it is the law of all progress
that it is made by passing through some stages of instability—
and that it may take a very long time.
And so I think it is with you;
your ideas mature gradually—let them grow,
let them shape themselves, without undue haste.
Don’t try to force them on,
as though you could be today what time
(that is to say, grace and circumstances acting on your own good will) will make of you tomorrow.
Only God could say what this new spirit
gradually forming within you will be.
Give Our Lord the benefit of believing
that his hand is leading you,
and accept the anxiety of feeling yourself
in suspense and incomplete.

Every Angel - Meister Eckhart
A theologian once taught that the angels around us here on earth are unhappy compared with those that surround God in heaven. Nonsense!
Every angel does the will of the One who sent it and God's work is good equally and everywhere.
Were the Holy One to have an angel in the trees for picking off caterpillars, that would be the greatest joy imaginable.
