Dear Friends,

 We pray you are safe and well.

 In the spirit of our philosophy of co-creating community and our awareness that the Spirit speaks through each of us, we invite you to share your meditations with us as well. We truly believe that in God’s economy of abundance, when we share our blessings, our thoughts, our feelings, we are all made richer.

Today's Meditation comes to us from A Concord Pastor, Rev. Austin Fleming as he prays his night prayer reflecting on the brilliant Corn Moon. Don't miss the breathtaking song, "Maker of the Moon" by Elle Limebear--the link is at the end of the poem-prayer.

We invite you to join us as we commit ourselves to working tirelessly to end systemic and structural racism in our society, in healthcare, in the workplace, in the Church--wherever it shows up so that everyone may come to have more abundant life. May this meditation nourish our contemplative-active hearts and sustain all of us in action.

We hope and pray that you and your loved ones experience genuine peace of mind and heart, and remain in good health during this challenging time.

In this "Season of Ordinary Time" in the Church Year, may this be a time of peace, of healing and hope, of the infusion of joy in your life!

With our love and care,

Ron & Jean

MEDITATION 140: Night Prayer: the Brilliant Corn Moon by A Concord Pastor, Rev. Austin Fleming and Song: "Maker of the Moon" by Elle Limebear.

Out for my walk last night, Lord,

I was lamenting the last of August,

the beginning of summer's end...

But an upward glance to the nighttime sky

revealed a welcome blessing:

the brilliant Corn Moon, aglow in the heavens,

the last full moon of summer,

your light upon my path ...

For a moment, just a moment, Lord,

the moon was mine alone

- as if you'd hung it just for me

and no one else could see its silver blessing

shining on my soul...

And your light was consolation

as I grieved the summer's passing;

your fullness and your brilliance,

pierced the shadows deep within;

your moon a pledge, a promise,

of your presence and protection...

As the seasons change again, Lord,

to autumn, then to winter,

to spring and hope of summer:

fill the night sky with your moonlight

and my heart to overflowing

with your warmth, your grace, your love...

Protect me, Lord, as I lie awake

'neath the Corn Moon's hazy glow;

watch over me, then, throughout the night

'til the sun rise up again:

that awake, I might keep watch with you

and asleep, rest in your peace...

Amen.
