Dear Friends,We pray you are safe and well. In the spirit of our philosophy of co-creating community and our awareness that the Spirit speaks through each of us, we invite you to share your meditations with us as well. We truly believe that in God’s economy of abundance, when we share our blessings, our thoughts, our feelings, we are all made richer. Today’s meditation is written by Jan Richardson entitled "Stay: A Blessing for Ascension Day." We used this as the Second Reading for our Zoom Eucharist yesterday and people requested that we send it out so they could ponder it and let it echo in their hearts. May this meditation nourish your contemplative-active hearts! We hope and pray that you and your loved ones experience genuine peace of mind and heart, and remain in good health during this challenging time. May the Easter Season be a time of peace, of healing and hope, of the resurrection of joy in your life! With our love and care,Ron & Jean

Meditation Fifty-two: Stay: A Blessing for Ascension Day by Jan Richardson

Stay
A Blessing for Ascension Day

I know how your mind
rushes ahead
trying to fathom
what could follow this.
What will you do,
where will you go,
how will you live?

You will want
to outrun the grief.
You will want
to keep turning toward
the horizon,
watching for what was lost
to come back,
to return to you
and never leave again.

For now
hear me when I say
all you need to do
is to still yourself
is to turn toward one another
is to stay.

Wait
and see what comes
to fill
the gaping hole
in your chest.
Wait with your hands open
to receive what could never come
except to what is empty
and hollow.

You cannot know it now,
cannot even imagine
what lies ahead,
but I tell you
the day is coming
when breath will
fill your lungs
as it never has before
and with your own ears
you will hear words
coming to you new
and startling.
You will dream dreams
and you will see the world
ablaze with blessing.

Wait for it.
Still yourself.
Stay.
