Spiritual Discussion Evening: “No Common Ground: Can a faulty understanding of the human person be derailing our thinking about God?”
Sunday, September 16, 2012, 06:00pm

SUNDAY ~ September 16TH:  Spiritual Discussion Evening:  Mary Steinmetz (Spirit of Life Community member and recent
MTS grad of the School of Theology & Ministry at BC) will facilitate a discussion entitled: "No Common Ground: Can a faulty understanding of the human person be derailing our thinking about God?"

The language of Catholic Social Teaching over the last 25 years has increasingly portrayed the relationship between the sexes in terms of
"complementarity." What is the understanding of the human person (theological anthropology) underlying this term? What different articulations are offered in the work of theologians today and how does this impact our discussion of who God is and how God desires to communicate with us?  This conversation will utilize the work of Elizabeth Johnson to illustrate the possibilities for thinking about God created by a more accurate and scientifically supportable understanding of the human person.

This will begin immidetely after Mass.
