Spiritual Discussion Group with NuDay Syria founder Nadia Alawa
Sunday, January 29, 2017, 05:00pm

Sunday ~ January 29, Spiritual Discussion Group: Our speaker for the evening will be Nadia Alawa, founder of NuDay Syria, a program developed to help Syrian refugees create new beginnings.

World Day of Prayer for Migrants was celebrated on January 15th. This plus The Spirit of Life’s commitment to take care of those most in danger in our new political climate prompted us to invite Nadia whom we originally heard speak at Agape Community in the fall.

NuDaySyria’s mission statement: One Person at a Time, One Humanity. All you have to do is care and want change in Syria to happen, and together we can help and make a difference. We focus on women with no male breadwinners and their families. Many of these women have crossed the border to avoid military and political persecution - only to find themselves in dire circumstances with few options to safeguard their children and themselves with dignity. We send aid into Syria and bordering countries, keeping the mothers and their priorities and needs in mind.

Refreshments will be served and Nadia’s presentation will begin following our 4:00pm liturgy.

And, as always….All are welcome!!
